Product description
-------------------
The POCito Skull for kids has the same technologies as POC's
adult race helmets but provides improved impact absorption at
lower speeds and force. It has a full aramid penetration barrier
to protect from sharp objects and the helmet has also adjustable
sizing, which allows the child to grow with the helmet. The
helmet comes in fluorescent colors with reflective stickers to
maximize visibility and ultimately avoid collisions with other
skiers. There is also an accessory pack including a LED light and
a fluorescent vest. The goggle clip has a My Info-print for the
parent's contact information.

With the POC POCito kids' helmet, your children will enjoy the
same protection as you while you're out on the slopes, as it's
created with the same features as the Swedish company's adult
models. The POCito has a softer lining that provides improved
shock absorption for delicate little heads, and can grow with
your child thanks to an adjustable sizing system. The helmet
comes with some surprising add-ins, as well, including a contact
info panel near the goggle clip (in case your kiddo gets lost)
that also lists emergency medical information, a Recco avalanche
rescue reflector, bright orange ski bib, reflective accents, and
a helmet-ed LED flashing light.
For maximum safety, the little helmet comes in bright colors with
reflective accents and an LED light on the back (includes
light).

POC has worked intensively with leading experts to understand
every detail regarding how a helmet should be constructed, with
the sole objective of creating better protection than ever
before. When POC began, there were two types of helmets on the
market:
* The first type of helmet was a traditional helmet with a hard
shell and a liner of softer expanded polystyrene (EPS), which has
good penetration resistance and energy distribution properties.
The disadvantage of the hard shell is that upon impact, the hard
structure causes a sudden stop. The brain may continue to move in
the direction of travel and the impact is not absorbed very well.
Hard shell helmets are also quite heavy, which may cause the
helmet to bounce off the ground on impact.
* The second type of helmet was an "in-mold" helmet, which
originated in the field of cycling. These molded helmets have a
thinner shell of hard plastic that covers the ears and the back
of the neck. Normally, both the traditional hard shell and
in-mold helmets rely on expanded polystyrene (EPS) for shock
absorption. EPS absorbs energy by plastic deformation, meaning it
is deformed permanently upon impact. Therefore, a helmet liner
made of EPS will not be good at absorbing repetitive shocks,
while also providing poor protection from the effects of
rotational violence, which is a major risk at oblique impacts.
POC's patent-pending Aramid Ballistic Penetration (APB) barrier,
however, offers better shock absorption, lower weight, and
improved penetration resistance. For snow sport use, the APB
shell is combined with a patent-pending, Ventilated Double Shell
Anti Penetration (VDSAP). The concept was initially developed for
the Receptor+ all-season helmet. Developed and certified in
Europe and the US for skiing, snowboarding, skateboarding,
biking, and water sports, VDSAP is built with double shells,
placed offset, for maximum penetration resistance with channels
to evacuate heat, moisture, or water. The inner shell is an
extremely thin in-mold shell, while the outer shell is a hard
shell of ABS and PC.
Warranty
POC products include a limited one-year manufacturer's warranty
against defects in materials and workmanship.
About POC
POC is a Swedish company dedicated to saving lives and
minimizing the consequences of accidents for all "gravity sports"
athletes by advancing the science of personal protection. The
company has innovated a number of technical solutions,
constructions, material combinations, and engineering approaches
with patented solutions which increase the degree of protection.
From its corporate headquarters and research lab in Stockholm,
POC employs engineers, material spets, industrial and
graphic designers, neurologists, and back spets to be a
leading voice in safety, medicine, care, advanced product
development, and testing. All POC products have been tested by
leading athletes before going through further refining and
product improvement. The end result is a line of lightweight,
high performance gear that offers advanced protection against
injury thanks to superior impact absorption and penetration
resistance.
